Wuthering Heights was definitely win. It was disturbing and infuriating, and crazy and awful, but it was amazing.

That Emily Bronte said she wanted to create a haunting masterpiece; I say she succeeded.

I'll read the Nicholas Sparks book next, and then Donnelly's book - and who knows what after that.

Yay for me!

W-Heights, Sparks, and A Northern Light

Still reading and loooooving Wuthering Heights. It's just hard to find time to read now that the semester is drawing to a close, and all my professors are going nuts (cause they're slackers and did nothing during the beginning of the semester) and pile up the homework/busy work. Gaaay.

But, I love this book. I'm at the part where Heathcliff has mentioned his plan to get Cathy to marry his son, Linton ((in the words of Nelly: "that naughty boy")). As much as I dislike Heatch ((and I love to hate him)), I feel sorry for the guy. When I think back to the earlier chapters, where he throws open the window to Catherine's bedroom and cries for her ghost to come back...it's sad. Poor guy. He's still a douche, but I kind of want to hug him, and then kick him a little.

Anyway, great book.

And I know this whole reading only one book a month thing isn't gonna fly, but hopefully once summer hits I'll have more time. Hopefully.

Unfortunately, I will not be reading Jane Eyre next. My new friend/co-worker gave me Nicholas Sparks's book Three Weeks With My Brother, and I want to read that and then her book A Northern Light by Jennifer Donnelly (I think), before I tackle Ms. Charlotte Bronte.

Right. So, that is all.

I am Spectacular at Fail

So, Mansfield Park is still unfinished; my Jane Austen class has moved on to Emma ((which I finished, thanks)). I don't know when I'll get around to finishing MP. All I know is that I hated reading it. It was complete torture ((I hate Fanny and Edmund)). It'll just have to be one of those books that I finish inbetween other books.

I am now in the middle of Wuthering Heights, and I freakin' love it.

Heathcliff and Catherine are horrible people, but they deserve each other and I'm oddly fascinated by them.

I'm a work, and I get irrationally angry at customers when they barge in and I have to put the book down...It's too good!

Joseph has to go though. His cockney ((is that right??)) accent annoys the hell out of me. He's impossible to understand, and I get a headache trying to decipher the dialogue.

Anywho, I am still an epic fail, but I'm slowly making my way out of it. (=

Epic Fail

I still haven't finished Mansfield Park.

It sucks, and so do I.

Honestly?

I had high hopes for Mansfield Park. Sad.

So far, I'm liking Emma more. I do not like this character Fanny; she seems to be everything that Austen opposes in her gender. Edmund is a retard. And though I'm pretty positive they're going to end up together ((*shudder* they are totally first cousins, and I know that was acceptable back then, but honestly)), I can't find anything interesting about Fanny at all. Nothing that makes me want for Edmund ((Or Henry or whoever)) to fall in love with her. She doesn't have spunk, like Elizabeth and Emma. She's only slightly less irritating that Mrs. Bennett and Mr. Woodhouse, and she just...does not win at life. At all.

Sincerely disappointed, I am. And I still have lots more to read.

*defeated sigh*

Success!!

Yay me! Emma is completed. I'm going to start Mansfield Park before I got to bed tonight, and have it finished by next Thursday. Then, it's Wurthering Heights.

Emma was...decent. It got better closer to the end. I'd say the first 3/4 of the novel was boring, for myself at least. And Emma was just retarded. I didn't like her nearly as much as I liked Elizabeth from Pride and Prejudice. Mr. Knightely was win, though.

I can't wait until we see the movie version in class; it's not going to be until the last part of the semester, though. We're also going to watch Clueless. Any class that has that movie was part of the curriculum is win, for sure. We have to get through MP and the movie version first, however. I kind of misread the syllabus and started on Emma before I was supposed to, but I couldn't bring myself to stop reading it and pick up a new book. I hate that.

Anyway...I pretty much rock. (= One down, forty-nine to go. ;)
